George Anderson, PresidentWelcome to the website of Broughty Ferry Amateur Operatic Society. For more than 80 years, we have been performing musicals and operettas in Dundee, Scotland.

Our next production is My Fair Lady, from 26th to 29th November 2008 in the Whitehall Theatre, Dundee. This popular musical by Lerner and Loewe features a raft of well-known songs such as Wouldn’t It Be Loverly, On The Street Where You Live, I Could Have Danced All Night, and I’m Getting Married In The Morning. The story is based on George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion, and concerns Professor Henry Higgins’ attempts to get cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle to speak and behave like a lady. It was made even more famous by the 1964 feature film starring Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn. My Fair Lady has been described as “the perfect musical”, so make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to see a live production of this classic.

Tickets are now on sale and are available here.

If you'd actually like to join us and take part, either on or backstage, Broughty Opera is an ideal society to introduce you to the thrills of mounting a theatrical production, and can also offer you a vibrant social calendar throughout the year.
