the milkman would like his daughters to marry nice, respectable and
preferably
wealthy men from the village, but his daughters have other ideas. Meanwhile,
dangers from the outside threaten the existence of Anatevka itself. The
show explores how the modern world comes into conflict with
the traditions and way of life of one man and his community, and was
made famous by the film version starring Topol. Broughty Opera's production
is sure to be spirited, with excellent renditions of songs such as Tradition,
If I Were A Rich Man and Sunrise, Sunset. The show also marks the debut
of new director Zoe Glenn.
